Educator Support

The Center for Relationship Education wants to support you as an educator. We have put together the following resources to help you move forward. If you have additional questions, please contact our office.

Getting Started as a WAIT Training Educator

The first step in getting started is easy. Please contact CRE so that we can provide you with the technical support in the facilitation of the WAIT Training curriculum. We also provide technical assistance in a variety of areas:
  • Help you become familiar with WAIT Training curriculum lessons and pre and post survey instruments.
  • Use of a training checklist as a guide. To view a trainer checklist, CLICK HERE.
  • Use of a student training sign-in sheet. To view a student sign-in sheet, CLICK HERE.

Classroom Management…Who’s in charge!
The teacher and facilitator relationship is critical in providing the safest, most inclusive learning environment. Establishing norms and expectations is the key to building a respectful classroom climate where all students feel accepted and included. This  classroom climate strategy will create a strong system of support in the classroom that is conducive to learning.

The training includes:

  • Responsibilities
  • Planning
  • Classroom Management
  • Training area configuration
  • Instructional delivery
  • Modeling of activities for maximum impact

Parent’s Role in WAIT Training
Partner with parents by hosting a workshop at your local school that provides information about WAIT Training. Discuss requirements in the parental consent form for students participating in your program. Provide parents with  information about the facilitation of training. Make yourself available to answer any questions they might have about WAIT Training.
